Every time you make a dinner with vegetables and meal that you have left over’s from, just place the them into a baggy and freeze. When you want to make soup put all of you veggies into a pot and cook to your liking!!!

Here is a rich and hearty beef soup recipe that goes great with biscuits or cornbread.
INGREDIENTS:
2 to 3 meaty beef shank bones, about 2 pounds
1 quart beef broth
2 cups water
1/3 cup pearl barley
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced celery
1 1/2 cups diced carrot
1 cup diced turnip or rutabaga
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
Dash garlic powder, optional
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
In your soup pot, mix in the beef, broth, and water and bring it up to a boil. Turn the heat down to a simmer and cover for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add barley and simmer for another 30 minutes. Mix in the vegetables and diced tomatoes, along with garlic powder. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes longer, or until vegetables are tender. Don’t forget to remove the bones.
